kat folker
KAT FOLKER is a screenwriter from New England, where she grew up in a Stephen King novel minus the clown. Strapped for friends at a young age, Kat was forced to make her own and stumbled into the extremely lucrative and ever-so-normal art of puppeteering. As a puppeteer, Kat has written, fabricated, and performed in everything from stage shows, touring projects, and film work, including for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Bushnell Center for Performing Arts. Kat's love of storytelling led her into screenwriting, where she graduated from Columbia University’s MFA Film program. There, her pilot ALFIE AND FRIENDS won Faculty Selects. Kat’s work features bright, over-the-top worlds contrasted against grounded emotions, often following earnest weirdos reckoning with their passions, loyalties, and relationships with others — all delivered with her uniquely folksy and offbeat flair.
